It has been a fair while since the Scottish trials scene has congregated on a single location to have a group ride, but it has been even longer since we have visited somewhere new to ride. So it was interesting to hear that a few folk believed that we might have a new place to check out.
Kirkcaldy, in the Kingdom of Fife, is a town that I have only visited maybe twice before. Each time to the outskirts for a show, but I'll have to be honest and confess that I had let the town play up to its 'rough' stereotype, and I had certainly never thought of visiting it to ride.
So this was the chosen location our first group ride in months, and on a Sunny October morning a dozen or so riders met up, including several riders who were 'new' to the scene and also plenty of younger riders very keen to ride. Starting on the promenade we spent the whole day hunting around to see what we could find.
We managed to find and ride some good street, as well as some rocks, so it was a good mixture for both street riders and compy riders all in all. Several hours of laughs later we were done with Kirkcaldy, and I certainly think it'll be somewhere that we could head back to try and find some lines that could be filmed on video. In the meantime though, here are some of the photos from that have surfaced through various sources from the ride last weekend;
